Get involved in Halls Life
Much of what goes on in Halls is managed by the Halls Life team. See below for the variety of opportunities available all year round.
Halls Welcome Events
Welcome Week is going to look a different this year, but it isn't going to be any less fun! Our top priority is still ensuring you have the best possible time in Halls, so check out what we have in store here.
Halls Student Committees
We work with the Guild to ensure each Hall has a Halls’ Student Committee (HSC) that anyone can be a part of. Residents work together to make sure that everyone has the best time whilst living in Halls by attending meetings and making sure students opinions are heard. HSCs have a budget to promote a feeling of community however students living in the hall decide this is needed. More information will be shared on the Halls Facebook pages once you arrive, and you can find out more about joining the HSC here.
Halls Give it a Go
The Halls Give it a Go programme (GIAG) is run by the Guild of Students and the Halls Life Team and gives you the chance to try loads of new things. Most of the activities are either free or heavily discounted (up to 75% off). GIAG gives you a chance to try something new, without paying the high price tag. Halls GIAG trips and events will be advertised on our Halls Facebook pages, so make sure you keep an eye out!
Green Guild
The Green Guild provide opportunities for students, staff and the wider community to think green & become more sustainable and here in halls we provide students with the chance to get involved with the Green Guild directly by becoming a Green Champion. More information will be shared on our Social Media pages.
Societies
At university pretty much every interest is covered by a society - from beekeeping to comic books to baking there is plenty to get involved in. A society is group of students with similar interests who come together to learn, organise and experience their passions in life! Find out more about the societies at Liverpool Guild here.
Volunteering
Many of the societies will also have charitable aims, for example Help the Homeless, Amnesty International and Climate Action Society. If you are looking to volunteer outside of the university the Guild provides an up to date list of opportunities available around the city and beyond here. If you know of a volunteering organisation that would like to make their opportunities available to students please ask them to visit the Guild website here.
Make sure you are following all of the guidance on living in halls safely during COVID 19 here.
